Welcome From the Pastor
Welcome to the First Congregational Church of Haddam. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you will be welcomed with open arms by our church community. You will find that our church is a community of believers who are centered in Jesus Christ, his love, teachings, and mission, and where everyone is valued and affirmed. At FCCH we have committed ourselves to incorporating the teachings of Christ into our daily life, and we support others in their faith journey.
I hope you will join us for worship on Sundays at 10 AM (9 AM in July and August). In worship you will hear God’s word proclaimed in a variety of ways, including music, silence, prayer, singing, and preaching. We are proud of our outstanding music program, led by our wonderful organist and choir director, Eric Lundin. We also offer numerous opportunities for children of all ages, led by the creative and dedicated leadership of Nancy Soneson.
You will also find numerous opportunities for involvement in mission, both locally and globally. Caring Connections supplies meals to families in need. We also work with local agencies, including the Amazing Grace Food Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul’s and the Women’s Shelter in Middletown, Habitat For Humanity, and the Haddam Food and Fuel Bank. We are currently raising funds for Simply Smiles, a charity dedicated to providing bright futures while improving the daily lives of impoverished childrenin Oaxaca Mexico. We work closely with Church World Service, including Blanket and Tool Sunday, and CROP Walk, as well as the local and global ministries of The United Church of Christ.
